Although it’s been several years since Eric Dane appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, that’s still one of his most iconic roles. Fans fell head over heels for Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan until the character’s death at the beginning of Season 9.

Dane’s other popular roles include Captain Tom Chandler on The Last Ship and Cal Jacobs on Euphoria. But now, he’s excitedly promoting a large film role.

As most celebrities do, Dane appeared on a talk show to discuss the upcoming picture. But his appearance really stunned fans. Read on and see why.

Eric Dane Looks Completely Different On Live With Kelly & Mark

Eric Dane has left Grey’s Anatomy behind him, but he’s certainly not done with acting. The 51-year-old recently appeared on Live With Kelly & Mark to discuss his new movie, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

But his new look caught several fans off guard. His signature Grey’s Anatomy look featured wavy dark blonde hair and a spray of stubble across his chiseled jawline. All that was gone when he stepped onto the Live stage.

Dane’s hair was completely buzzed and appeared to be more of a bleach-blonde color. The actor previously confirmed his hair is naturally gray now, so it seems that he shakes it up for roles now and then.

“My hair is naturally gray,” Dane told USA Today in a 2014 interview. “That just happened because of my age.”

Neither Kelly Ripa nor Mark Consuelos had much to say about Eric Dane’s drastic change in appearance, but it was quite noticeable to viewers. Although viewers generally agree that the actor is still incredibly handsome, he has changed quite a bit about his look since leaving Grey’s Anatomy.

When Can Fans See The Actor In His New Role?

As per The Sun, this is Eric Dane’s first appearance in a Bad Boys film. He portrays the villain opposite stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The movie will appear in theaters everywhere starting June 7, 2024.

Although it’s a vastly different role from his run on Grey’s Anatomy, fans are ready for it.

Over the past decade, Grey’s Anatomy storylines have moved away from Dr. Mark Sloan as new crops of doctors enter the hospital’s halls. However, Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital was partially named in his honor. The character may be long gone, but Eric Dane will always be part of the Grey’s universe.
