‘Tracker’ Justin Hartley Gives Inside Scoop On Rigorous Workload
Justin Hartley scored another smash hit with Tracker. Fans remember him from his other starring role as Kevin Pearson in This Is Us. However, landing another huge ratings winner is no cakewalk. Recently, Hartley gave his fans an inside look at the rigorous workload that goes into bringing Colter Shaw to life.
Justin Hartley Went From Soap Hunk To Leading Man
When Justin Hartley first got his start in soaps, he was pure eye candy, and everyone knew it. Hartley opened up in the past about how he would spend weeks filming with his shirt off, and how that became such a staple of his early scenes on soaps like Passions.
Of course, it never hurts to have a chiseled jaw and leading man good looks. For Justin Hartley, it just took him a while to fully reach his potential as a leading man, especially one capable of carrying a successful franchise on his back like he has been able to do with his new show, Tracker.
Tracker On CBS Is A Monster Hit
Who knew that watching Justin Hartley get rugged while saving people would be such a huge hit? It turns out, whoever first placed that bet is seeing some impressive returns. Tracker became the number one non-sports show on TV for the 2023-2024 season.
That in and of itself is an impressive feat. However, the actual numbers are even more impressive once you have a look at them. The show averaged an impressive 11.58M viewers per episode. Tracker was the first new show to hit the number-one spot since Survivor accomplished it in the 2000-2001 season.
Tracker Star Justin Hartley Dishes On Grueling Schedule
As anyone who watches television knows, a new show can get the ax at any point, no matter how well it could be doing. Ultimately, no show is safe, as even long-running ones can unexpectedly get the boot as well. Luckily for Justin Hartley and the Tracker crew, they found out that the show was picked up for a second season only four episodes into the first season.
The way Justin Hartley sees it, that early renewal was a boost of energy and validation for him and the rest of the crew that they were doing something right, and it made him want to work harder despite the rigorous filming schedule and everything that went into successfully pulling off the show that so many viewers love.
Justin Hartley said: “I love that we got the early renewal because I think it energizes the crew, and it certainly energized me. My schedule was grueling, and I was like, ‘Okay, this is awesome. Now we’re in it for the long haul.'”
