Did Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay work extra hard to keep the Bravo staff employed? It appears that is the narrative she is pushing on her followers and fans after an interesting reunion. The OG cast member detailed why she felt certain ways toward the end of the season. More so, she explained what happened in the middle of Season 11 to make her and Lala Kent stand up and lash out. Keep reading for more details.

Scheana Shay Worked Hard To Keep Bravo Staff Employed?

For years, fans have said that Scheana Shay goes where the wind blows and is not a loyal friend. Back in Season 4, she was called out by Ariana Madix for texting with her mother, Tanya Madix. Scheana allegedly said bad things about Ariana’s relationship with Tom Sandoval. However, that was not the reason Tanya had texted Scheana. Allegedly, it was to say she was sad she would not see her for the holidays but Scheana maintained it was to check in on Ariana. Still, Ariana stood by Scheana and has had her back for many years and seasons. Scheana then had to choose between Ariana and Sandoval after he cheated with their best friend, Rachel Leviss.

It looked like the choice would be easy but for Scheana, it was not. She had a longer history with Sandoval than Ariana. Plus, he had given her money during the pandemic so she felt she had to forgive him. During the Season 11 reunion, Scheana was there for Lala Kent and not so much for Ariana. Now, viewers are wondering why so she is trying to clear it up. According to Meaww, Scheana talked about what was going on during her podcast, Scheananigans.

She has this to say about what was going on behind the scenes to add some context:

“It was a whole season of feeling like we all kind of had to walk on eggshells. I know [executive producer] Alex Baskin has said that midseason, the show was not in a good place. It was, you know, ‘X, Y and Z needs to happen. Or we’re going to have a short season and the show’s going to be canceled and that’s it. Go live your lives.’”

It appeared that Lala Kent internalized what Alex Baskin had said as did Scheana Shay causing the close friends to work overtime.

“I think Lala and I felt a lot of pressure after that day when it was like, ‘Well, we don’t want the show to get canceled.'”

Scheana also noted all of the people who worked tirelessly to make the Bravo show happen:

“There’s a crew of 80 to 100 people who work on this show. And I said this at the reunion — which you didn’t see — but I was like, ‘I feel like we’re doing our jobs also for all of these people. We want to keep this going.’ And so when someone does just walk away, they don’t care if the show ends, it’s not just about us. There’s so many more people that do rely on this, and that’s where it just got really hard because I’m like, I do understand and respect your boundaries, but it just made it really difficult.”

Saving Jobs

Admittedly, Lala Kent shared in part three of the Season 11 Vanderpump Rules reunion that she needs the show for her child. This is her source of income so Ariana Madix can leave if the show does not mean anything to her but she needs to respect her co-workers. Tom Schwartz, however, said that they are family and more than a paycheck. Even James Kennedy chimed in with the same sentiment. If the ship sinks then yes, many people are out of a job but it is also a group effort to keep it afloat. They cannot just rely on Ariana so they can get paid. Was Scheana acting with her heart? That is up to the viewers. Was Lala doing what she had to do to save the show? Up to the fans. Can the show be saved? Time will tell.
