‘DOOL’ Vet Vincent Irizarry Talks Turning Tragic Loss Into Hope
Vincent Irizarry is well-known to soap fans. The veteran actor has appeared on several daytime dramas. The DOOL vet shared how he turned a tragic loss into hope. Keep reading for more on the inspiring story.
Vincent Irizarry Has New Soap Gig
Vincent Irizarry’s most famous soap character was one of his shortest. He played Brandon ‘Lujack’ Luvonaczek on Guiding Light for just two short years before the character was killed off. He returned to the now-canceled CBS soap in 1991 as Lujack’s twin brother, Nick.
Irizarry went on to play characters such as David Hayward on All My Children and Deimos Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives. Most recently, he portrayed Dr. Jordan Armstrong on The Bold & The Beautiful.
Fans will see the versatile actor take on a new role in a new digital soap opera. Soap Digest reported in March that the veteran actor will join Jordi Vilasuso (Dario, Days of Our Lives) and Adam Huss, who just wrapped up a stint as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital, in the new drama called THE BLVD.
Filming was supposed to begin in March, and more details are expected soon about where fans can stream it. CBS is also getting a new soap opera. The Gates was announced in March, with a possible 2025 air date.
DOOL Vet Talks Turning Tragic Loss Into Hope
Real-life tragedy struck the soap star a few years ago. He previously shared that his cousin, Lauren, took her own life in 2022. Vincent Irizarry took to his Instagram earlier this week to share how a tragic end to a life turned into a story of hope.
His first story of hope was detailed in how an artist created multiple murals of his cousin in both Brooklyn and New Orleans. But his main story of hope was his beloved Uncle Johnny, who was his cousin’s father.
In a lengthy social media post, the actor revealed that his uncle used music to “process the insurmountable grief.” John Irizarry, musician and uncle to the actor, wrote and recorded an entire album to his daughter’s memory.
