Vanessa Lachey Made NCIS History

Star Vanessa Lachey made NCIS history by being the first female lead in the franchise. When the announcement of the cancellation was made, she opened up on Instagram about the news.

According to Lachey, she and a number of the cast members were “blindsided” by the network’s decision. CBS also axed CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd.

“It is incumbent on us to always keep the schedule fresh, keep momentum going,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment said. “Everything came back [from the Hollywood strikes] really strong, but ultimately we have to look at the cohesiveness of the schedule flow. We have to evaluate the financials and the performance overall, and we make tough decisions.”

Despite a fan petition to bring the show back gathering tens of thousands of signatures, Amy Reisenbach said there is no chance that the show will be picked back up. It likely won’t continue on a streaming service either, which has happened with some canceled shows in the past.

However, Vanessa Lachey has now shared some information about the show’s stats that makes viewers wonder why it is being canceled at all.
