‘Chicago Fire’ Promo Has Fans Fearing For Fan-Favorite Character
Chicago Fire just released a heart-pounding promo that has fans scared for the survival of one of the show’s most important and beloved stars. The new promo is for the Episode 11 of Season 12, and after that, there are only two episodes left of the season, which ends on May 22.

Will Chicago Fire Kill Severide?
The promo for the upcoming Chicago Fire episode makes it look like it will be about a lot more than just putting out fires and risking lives to save others. The promo, which follows the show’s return from a one-month break last week, reveals that someone has stolen one of the fire tricks, and it seems Severide is along for the ride.
Last week’s episode saw a new firefighter joining the ranks, with Michael Bradway joining the Chicago Fire cast as Jack Damon, someone that the other firefighters didn’t trust Also, Paramedic Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) was introduced in the previous episode as Violet Mikami’s (Hanako Greensmith) partner. It also saw Kelly Severide in charge with Chief Boden out.
However, this week, Kelly is in a much more dangerous spot. From the look of the trailer, he will have to deal with the people who stole the firetruck from his station and possibly find a way out of a gunfight at the same time. While it is doubtful, there is always a chance that Chicago Fire could kill its lead character.
What Is Left For Severide On Chicago Fire This Season?
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Severide die this season on Chicago Fire. Actor Taylor Kinney took a leave of absence from the show until NBC announced his return in October 2023.
Kinney has been the lead actor on Chicago Fire since the show started. This season marks his 12th year on the CBS drama. While some actors have remained in their roles for up to two decades, Kinney seems to have been drifting away in recent years. This might explain why he needed to take a break after 11 years. Severide might have returned to wrap up his character’s story arc.
There have been several characters who left Chicago Fire over the years, either through leaving or dying. This includes Matthew Casey, Jessica Chilton, Gabriela Dawson, Leslie Shay, and more. Severide would be the biggest departure, but it wouldn’t be surprising.
For now, Kinney has never announced his intention to leave. That means this promo might just be a way to put him in danger for an exciting episode.
