Whitney Way Thore’s dad, Glen Thore felt sad because he had no grandchildren. So, he became emotional when he discovered that his long-lost daughter, Angie Burdett had kids, and he was a great grandfather. At the time, it seemed that his son, Hunter wasn’t in a rush to settle down and have kids, either.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans were in for a shock on Instagram this weekend. After posting up a lot of clips in a reel showing Whitney and Angie together, the TLC star gushed all about the glorious life and times of having a sister. Then, out of nowhere, came the surrogate baby news.

Whitney Way Thore wrote in her caption:

While MBFFL fans raved over the post on Instagram, those TLC fans who saw it on Reddit were taken aback. Over there, the OP said:

In the discussion, My Big Fat Fabulous fans discussed if Angie could carry a baby at her age. Others wondered how on earth Whitney Way Thore would manage with a child. Here are some of those comments:

  • Going from “stocking my pickles” to “offering to carry my child!” is a wild leap I wasn’t prepared for.
  • Isn’t Angie a little long in the tooth to go through with a pregnancy?
  • She is old. But she could do it. Moms have carried their grandchildren before.
