Maria Georgas also reunited with her former flame and his new fiance. It seems all three of them have moved on from the drama of Season 28.

Joey Graziadei sent Maria Georgas home after the hometown dates. She was a major contender for the new season of The Bachelorette. However, media outlets reported that she turned it down, as did Daisy Kent. Jenn Tran was named the Season 21 lead.

Why She Turned Down The Bachelorette

Daisy Kent has already spoken out about why she turned the role down. Maria Georgas kept mum, though her dad spoke on her behalf. Nick Viall threw his two cents in.

Maria Georgas was one of the most outspoken contestants on Season 28 of The Bachelor. But she’s remained mostly silent since the show wrapped up in March.

After weeks of speculation, Maria is finally ready to share her truth about the decision to turn down the huge opportunity. She was a guest on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week, one of her first interviews since the season finale in March.

First, Maria Georgas confirmed that she was offered The Bachelorette. “It was mine until I said it wasn’t.”

She went on to say that she knew Jenn Tran really wanted to be the Bachelorette, calling Jenn Tran one of her closest friends from the house. But Jenn’s excitement made Maria wonder why she wasn’t as excited, why wasn’t she happy about it.

She decided to “take a step back” because she didn’t want to waste anyone’s time, including her possible suitors.

Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper chimed in and claimed Maria was set to come on the podcast in March to announce that she was The Bachelorette. Instead, she flew back to Toronto to return to her normal life.
