Jill Duggar Shares The Meaning Behind Isla Marie’s Name
On Thursday, Jill Duggar shared several photos of Isla Marie’s funeral service. In the caption, she shared a few more details about baby Isla. She started the caption writing, “We love & miss you baby girl! Isla Marie Dillard. Laid to rest 4.19.2024.”
Then, the former TLC star shared the meaning of the baby’s name. “Isla (pronounced ‘eye-la’), is a family name and means ‘Devoted to God,'” she wrote. “Marie is also a family name and means, ‘Wished for Child and Beloved.'”
The caption continued, stating that they sang a song at Isla’s graveside committal service that they sang to each of their children in the womb. The song was “Jesus Loves Me.” Jill Duggar concluded the post caption with the lyrics to the tune and included details about the original songwriter. “‘Jesus Loves Me’ was written by Anna Bartlett Warner around 1860 and is said to have been spoken as a comfort for dying children,” she wrote.
Fans Show Support For Jill After Devastating Loss
The former 19 Kids and Counting star shared the news of her loss with followers last week. Jill Duggar was only four months pregnant when she gave birth. She was not due until August.
Since then, she has shared several photos of services and ways they are keeping the memory of their sweet angel baby alive. Photos showed a large group of family and friends releasing balloons for baby Isla as well as her small casket being put into the ground.
Fans flocked to the comments to offer their condolences. “I’m so sorry for your loss. It does look like one good thing came out of this however,” one fan wrote. “It looks like both of your parents were able to be by your side.” In some of the photos posted from services for Isla, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar can be seen.
“Oh Jill these photos break my heart,” another fan wrote. “You and Derick are so strong, we are continuing to lift you up in prayer and sending all our love and support from afar.”
Jill Duggar’s words struck home with several of her followers. One person shared in the comments, “My sister, at 5 years old, sang this song with these verses as her last words before going to be with the Lord. This touched me so deeply.”
She has the thoughts and prayers of her followers, friends, and family with her at this heartbreaking time.
