Chloe Lukasiak Wants Therapy After ‘Dance Moms’ Reunion
Filming the 10-year Dance Moms reunion definitely put the former child stars through a whirlwind of emotions. As for 22-year-old Chloe Lukasiak, she admits she likely needs therapy now.
So what did Chloe have to say about filming the reunion special? Read on to get the scoop.
Chloe Lukasiak Addresses Her Mental Health Regarding Dance Moms
Avid Dance Moms viewers know that Abby Lee Miller often treated Chloe Lukasiak unfairly in the dance studio. She was often compared to Miller’s favorite, Maddie Ziegler, and put down by the dance instructor.
Of course, the reunion’s production team wanted to dive into some of those experiences. And it’s made Chloe realize she needs to heal some of those wounds.
“It made me realize I should probably go to therapy,” Chloe admitted with a laugh in a new interview with PEOPLE. “I got things I need to heal from, but it was good to look back and just appreciate. I didn’t expect it at all when they brought up the idea of a reunion.”
At first, Chloe didn’t have any reservations about the reunion. But once she was there, all the emotions came flooding back. She also admitted that this reunion happened after 10 years because all the girls involved needed space away from the show.
“Whether we left in season 4 or season 5 or 8 or whatever. I think after an emotionally charged environment like that, I think you need to step away, heal, just take time for yourself,” the 22-year-old continued. Chloe agreed to the reunion to say goodbye and close this chapter of her life while simultaneously showing gratitude for the platform it gave her.
Not Every Former Dance Moms Star Wanted To Return
Dance Moms ran for eight seasons and saw many dancers come and go during that time. Naturally, not everyone wanted to return. Original stars Nia Sioux, Maddie Ziegler, and Mackenzie Ziegler aren’t part of the special.
The reunion special will feature Chloe Lukasiak, JoJo Siwa, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, Kendall Vertes, and Kalani Hilliker.

Surprisingly enough, Abby Lee Miller isn’t part of the special either. But that’s probably for the best if production truly wanted the girls to speak truthfully.
“At this point, everyone has gone through different eras, had time to reflect and there’s been a lot that Abby put them through emotionally and physically and they just didn’t want to relive that,” one insider allegedly revealed last month. “Some of those involved decided that they would only be a part of the reunion if Abby wasn’t. The girls were able to speak their minds more openly without her there.”
Catch Dance Moms: The Reunion at 8 PM Eastern time on Wednesday, May 1 on Lifetime. Tune in and see what your favorite dancers have been up to over the last 10 years.
