Fans of The View have been rushing to share the news about the show’s hiatus and schedule change this week. The beloved talk show is taking a break and there are whispers about Whoopi Goldberg potentially retiring soon. So, when will The View be back on, and is Whoopi leaving? Here’s everything you need to know.

The View Goes On Spring Break

The View is the most-watched daytime talk show on television right now. So, there is no wonder as to why people are scrambling to find out what’s going on. Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro will all be taking a hiatus from your TV screens this week though.

Last Friday’s episode was a pre-recorded show. Normally, The View airs live at the same time every weekday. Seeing that the show wasn’t live, several fans took to social media to ask, “What’s going on?”

“Is it Spring break on The View?” one confused viewer asked. Another person confirmed, “Yep, pre-recorded today. They’ll be off next week. As I’ve said, I think because it’ll be Spring Break there.”

Not everyone understood about the schedule shake-up though. “Let me guess. This is the start of their Spring Break, and they couldn’t even finish out the week for the viewers? The recorded Fridays are getting old!” one fan complained on X.

“So it’s not live! But I did say how sometimes they go on Spring Break around this time, wondering if it was gonna be new, but my guide says it is,” another person pointed out. So, although it was pre-recorded, it was still a new episode, according to the TV guide.

Show’s Hiatus Sparks Concern About Whoopi Goldberg

Seeing that the panelists were not airing the show live, many people started to wonder whether or not casting changes were coming soon. There have been rumors that the moderator and long-time host Whoopi Goldberg would be retiring this year.

Last week, Whoopi seemed to be tired during the Wednesday, April 17 episode. An insider said that she was less energetic than she normally is, and this sparked more concern that she would be leaving the talk show soon.

“She was slouching and rested her head on her hand at times,” the inside source said. On top of that, she has been wearing more casual outfits when she shows up for work than she has in the previous 16 years on The View.

“After she was done reading her note cards, she would rip them up into pieces and hand them to a crew member, which is something the other co-hosts weren’t doing,” the insider continued.

However, there is no confirmation that Whoopi Goldberg is leaving The View any time soon. Her contract goes through 2025. So, she will be on the talk show for at least another year.

The View will be off the air this week and will return to its regular schedule on Monday, April 29.
