It appears that late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is a bit of a gambling man! In a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host admitted he bet on actress Zendaya to win Dancing With The Stars.

The Dune actress competed in DWTS Season 16 when she was just 16 years old. At the time, she was the youngest competitor the show had ever seen. She and her professional dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy finished in second place behind Derek Hough and Kellie Pickler.

Although Zendaya didn’t win her season, she reportedly still won quite a bit of money for Jimmy Kimmel. Keep reading to see what the talk show host had to say.

Jimmy Kimmel’s Bet On Zendaya Really Paid Off

Jimmy Kimmel Live! is an ABC show, as is Dancing With The Stars. So it makes sense that show host Jimmy Kimmel tunes in each season. And reportedly, he bets on a winner each and every year.

During Season 16, Kimmel’s money was on Disney Channel actress Zendaya. Since her time on DWTS, she’s gone on to star in many major film and television productions, including Euphoria. But then, she was best known for her role on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up.

Zendaya dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her new movie, Challengers. During the interview, the show host reminded her that he bet on her to win Dancing With The Stars Season 16 and won “quite a bit” of money, even though she didn’t win.

During the interview, Zendaya apologized for coming in second place, but he wouldn’t accept it. He was quite happy with her performance on the show and as it turns out, Kimmel made quite a bit of money from his gamble.

“Can I tell you, I think I won $12,000,” Kimmel told the actress.

“Well then, you’re welcome!” Zendaya replied.

The Talk Show Host Loves Predicting Reality TV Show Winners

When Dancing With The Stars kicks off each fall, Jimmy Kimmel predicts the winner. And as he said back in 2017, his predictions are often accurate. He doesn’t have a 100% success rate, but he’s quite pleased with his track record so far.

“I can’t fill out an NCAA bracket for the life of me, I got the Super Bowl wrong, but when it comes to ballroom dancing, and The Bachelor, by the way, I am golden,” the talk show host proudly proclaimed.

DWTS will return to ABC this fall. Fans can tune into Jimmy Kimmel Live! and see how he thinks will take home the Mirrorball Trophy this year.
