A former The View co-host has returned to the show but it caused viewers to quit watching. It all went down on Friday, April 12th and what should have been a happy reunion went down a very sour path. So, what exactly happened? Keep reading for more details.

Former The View Host Returns, Viewers Quit Watching

The View premiered in 1997 and since it began, there has been a host rotation. Some have been incredibly well received while others fans could do without. Yet, some have come on and it was not until they made their exit that the real drama began. On Friday, April 12th, former host, Candace Cameron Bure returned but as a guest. She spent just one season on the morning talk show from 2015 through 2016 and has since caused a lot of controversy. Her views can sometimes be offputting to longtime fans who grew up watching her as sweet and fun-loving DJ Tanner on Full and Fuller House.

She was even a Hallmark movie staple until she moved on to Great American Family. Friday she returned to her daytime talk show roots and some of her fellow co-hosts. According to The Sun, her time on the show was not easy in any capacity. She shared this detail in 2020 with Good Housekeeping:

“That was a super tough job. It helped me grow a lot, but that was the most difficult job I’ve had to date… you always feel like you’re fighting to speak your opinion.”

Unfortunately, coming back home did not make viewers at home happy in any capacity.

They immediately took to Twitter/X to share their disdain for The View having Bure on and how they were responding:

So clearly, viewers were not happy with whatever Candace Cameron Bure had to say and her general presence on the show.

Why Was She There?

Candace Cameron Bure stopped by The View to talk about the film Unsung Hero, which is about a faith-based music group. Additionally, she shared details from her son, Lev’s wedding day. The clip was shared on YouTube and fans struggled to understand why she claimed to be so happy when she was a guest However, Bure always talked about how she did not have fun as a co-host. Maybe because she gets to chat about what she wants as a guest as opposed to being told what to say as a host. In any case, the show did not get a positive reception having her on.

Did you watch Candace’s appearance or did you not care? More so, are you a fan of hers or indifferent? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. Before calling it quits did they go together to couples counseling to see if their differences could be successfully worked out?
