Katy Perry Plans ‘American Idol’ Return?
Katy Perry announced she was leaving American Idol when the current season ends. This came during a late-night talk show appearance with Jimmy Kimmel and she announced her departure before the reality singing competition show could release a statement. However, it now turns out that she might not be gone for very long.
The American Idol star said that she plans to return to American Idol and hinted at the kind of person who should replace her.
Katy Perry Plans To Return To American Idol
Katy Perry appeared on Good Morning America on Friday with Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Ryan Seacrest. They were there to talk about the current season of American Idol, but questions moved to Katy leaving the show. GMA correspondent Will Reeve asked how she felt about leaving, asking how she feels now that she is saying goodbye.
Katy quickly answered, “For now.” She then explained that American Idol “healed her heart” and that she loved working on the show with Richie and Bryan. However, she also said that she needed to take a break from the show for personal reasons. She emphasized this was not for good, and that she plans to return to the show in the future.
As for who she thinks should replace her in the judge’s chair, Katy said the person had to do one thing. They had to “put up with Luke and Lionel, that’s all.” She then once again put a stamp on her return by saying they needed to “keep her seat warm” until she returned.
Katy Perry Planning A World Tour
Katy Perry said what everyone had already figured out. She said she was leaving American Idol and wanted to go around the world. This means one thing. Katy Perry is planning a world tour. She said on Good Morning America that she wanted her daughter to see the world with her. While she is only three, Katy feels the time is right to head out for the tour.
“I feel so connected to America that I want to go out there again and sing and play music and hold their hands and tour,” Katy said. The singer had a Las Vegas residency called PLAY, but she hasn’t gone on a world tour in over five years. Her last album was in 2020, although she has said she has music for a new album.
While the tour and a possible new album remain a mystery right now. For now, there are rumors of her next album being nicknamed KP6 by her fans, but no other information is available. Katy Perry said she would play at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil this September. She told Kimmell at that time that this was her “last season” on American Idol, but it sounds like she has changed her mind on that sentiment.
