Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced they were ending their marriage during a joint interview on Good Morning America this week. They tied the knot in January on the televised Golden Wedding special.
The Golden Bachelor star didn’t take long to make it official. According to Us Weekly, Turner filed the paperwork on April 12, the same day as the GMA interview. That’s also the date of separation on the paperwork..
The legal papers were filed in his home state of Indiana. The reason listed for the divorce was “irretrievable breakdown” of the marriage. The former couple blamed distance as the reason during the morning interview. Neither one wanted to leave their families and relocate.

The news came as a surprise to some Bachelor Nation fans, though others – such as a co-host on The View – weren’t surprised at all. But an anonymous source close to the Golden Bachelor star claims that the divorce couldn’t come soon enough for Gerry Turner. The insider alleged that Gerry Turner initiated the divorce and wasn’t a joint decision like the former couple claimed.
The spy told Life & Style that Gerry Turner “wanted out” of the marriage. Theresa Nist, on the other hand, “wanted to work at it more than him.”

Oh Gerry (not Jerry), you are such a CON man. You did not miss a beat getting to the little town of Petersburg, Indiana , not far from where I live to file for a divorce. Theresa handled everything with grace, a bit of wit, & appreciation as witnessed by her comments.
I was really concerned when comments came out about “ Carolyn” & really how I believe he misrepresented himself to ABC, who I believe did NOT due diligence! Yeap there are still some good guys out there, but not this one. God bless, Leslie, who dodged a bullet, & Faith, & Ellen, and….! I think he is money hungry & feels like “his star” will last. Nope, Gerry, nope. I hope Theresa writes a BOOK!
