‘The View’ Why Is Sara Haines MIA This Week?
The View looked a bit different this week as Sara Haines was missing from the table. People are used to seeing her face along with Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the panelists on the show. However, she’s been MIA most of the week. Where is she and when will she return? Keep reading to find out.
Where Is Sara Haines?
Sara Haines was present on Monday but was missing on Tuesday. It was expected that she would miss the entire week, but she returned on Thursday.
Whoopi Goldberg briefly addressed her absence on the air saying, “We needed to tell you that Sara’s out for a few days attending a funeral for a family friend. That’s why she’s not here.”
On Thursday, Haines shared an update of her own. In the photo, she stood next to two other women. All of them were wearing black and stood in front of several flower arrangements. The second photo in the series revealed the family friend she lost was Janie Kahn.
Other photos in the series showed Sara Haines’ children paying their respects, photos of others at the funeral, and a close-up of flowers. In the photos, Haines is bare-faced and smiling.
The caption read, “To my 2nd family, the Kahnies. ‘Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.’ – Ron Tranmer.” Her emotional quote was accompanied by a white heart emoji.
Fans were quick to show their support in the comment section. One person wrote, “I’m so very sorry Sara. Family is family, no definition needed, the loss feels the same. Sending you love.” Another person chimed in, “So sorry for the loss of your second mom. I lost my second mom (auntie) too. Sending you and your family love and prayers.”
Sara Haines’ Career On The View
Since 2016, Sara Haines has been a regular face on The View. At one point, she left for a short period of time to host GMA Day, which was eventually renamed Strahan and Sara. Eventually, she returned full-time to The View after GMA had some major shakeups in formatting.
Before becoming a panelist on the popular talk show, Haines was a correspondent on Today, Good Morning America, and ABC News. Throughout her career, she has earned five Daytime Emmy Awards nominations, four from her work on The View.
With the help of Sara Haines, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, The View was ranked the number-one daytime talk show last season. Apparently, the show averaged around 2.375 million total viewers for the season. This put it ahead of all of the other syndicated talk shows currently on television, even Live With Kelly and Mark.
Sara Haines returned to The View on Thursday and is expected to continue her regular schedule following the loss of her family friend.

Sara should get over herself. A Diva. The show wouldn’t miss her if gone.
Is THAT what it is all about? Really?
The whole world knows Whoopie’s humor can be bluer than blue at times. I’m sure Sara had heard worse behind the scenes. So, what REALLY is going on?
I am sad that whatever the issue is, it has given mysogenists fuel to burn up a fabulous all female show. I hope these flames can be doused, and the best talk show currently on TV, can continue to bring us intelligent commentary and discussion, along with fun to sip our morning coffee to.
Each of the ladies brings a unique perspective to any duscussion:
Whoopie: experience, wisdom, funny-ness
Joy: ditto, accompanied by her quick wit
Allyssa: her experience in the White House and first hand knowledge of Trumpdome;
Sonny: her knowledge of law, although I suspect it is quite limited … she knows where to look, I guess;
Sara: certainly would not call her a diva!! Conversely, to me, she is relatable, the most “homey”. Her views seem practical, down to earth, based in kindness and respect for others, and family values. I would also have attributed to her a sense of humor, and not the prissy response she is accused of to Whoopie’s “eaten” joke!
The whole thing seems very strange to me. Too bad if it undermines the value of this unique show… I watch every day I can … which has taken women’s beliefs, experiences, values, and societal worth, so far.
Get over it, Sara, and/or View executives!! Bring together the women of The View, and move along!!!
Already submitted my comments on the Whoopie/Sara issue.
