‘Selling Sunset’ Mary Fitzgerald Has Surgery Following Miscarriage
It appears that Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald is undergoing surgery on her uterus following her miscarriage in 2023.
During the most recent season, fans watched as Mary and her husband Romain Bonnet learned of her pregnancy. Mary already has one adult son, but Romain doesn’t have any. The pair really hoped to welcome a baby together. Sadly, the pregnancy ended in miscarriage.
Now, the Netflix star is shedding light on the journey so far and her hopes for the future. Read on to see what Mary Fitzgerald had to say.
Mary Fitzgerald Doesn’t Mind Being Candid About Her Fertility
Mary Fitzgerald gave birth to her son Austin when she was just 15 years old. Although being a single teen mom wasn’t easy, she’s incredibly proud of the adult Austin grew into.
However, she would also love to have a baby with Romain.
Mary recently shared that she’s planning for uterine surgery.
“I have had an MRI scan, a full body scan and I have to have a surgery on my uterus,” the 43-year-old shared with Us Weekly. “It’s gonna be an interesting process. It’s not going to be as easy as we thought it would.”
Although Mary and Romaine would love to welcome a child together, the Selling Sunset star said she’s doing alright amid the disappointment.
“I’ve had plenty of time to process and, in the beginning, it wasn’t easy. I think that I’ve really taken a stance, and it’s become a passion of mine to raise awareness for women’s issues,” she shared. “I think it’s so common now. So, I’m being very forward on that front. But when it comes to myself, there’s not a lot I can do about it. Whatever happens, happens but in the meantime, I’m going to try to help other women.”
The Selling Sunset Star Inspires Other Women
It seems that Mary Fitzgerald genuinely is invested in helping other women who share her fertility struggle.
“Sending you all love & light, if anything I went through on the season resonated with you I hope you feel the giant hug I am giving each and everyone of you,” she shared on Instagram in November. “I also want everyone to know that I am reading all the comments and messages thank you to everyone for sending Romain and I so much love. This season was very personal for us but we appreciate the support more [than] you know.”
