American Idol judge Luke Bryan is not intimidated by any of the contestants on this season of the megahit reality competition television show. That includes country singer Emmy Russell. If anyone was going to strike fear in the heart of an American Idol judge, it would be this powerful singer.

Luke Bryan Has A Job To Do

Luke Bryan understands he has a job to do. That job is to judge the talented contestants on American Idol. It should never matter who they are or their specific situations. He is only there to help make sure only the best of the best, the absolute cream of the crop, gets to the end. Yes, that includes Emmy Russell.

“I think if we start sending people through just because they have a connection with any form of music or if there’s somebody famous,” Luke Bryan stated. He went on to say, “If we start sending people through that don’t seem like they’re worthy of it, I think that America will call us out on that.”

American Idol Fans Know Who Is Good And Who Is Not

Luke Bryan has been an American Idol judge since 2018. He has the experience both as a judge and a talented singer too see who has the “pipes” to advance. Despite his seven years of experience, there are American Idol judges who have more experience judging contestants.

“They gotta be talented,” Luke Bryan said. “They gotta have the goods.”

The American Idol judges with more experience than Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry combined are the American Idol fans and viewers. They know who is good and who is not. Who better to know what the American people want in a winner than the American people? As Luke Bryan stated, they would call him or any other judge out if they thought people should not be going further in the competition.

Luke Bryan Will Not Favor Emmy Russell

When it comes time for Luke Bryan to step up as an American Idol judge, he will not be favoring Emmy Russell. Despite she is the granddaughter of the original “Queen of Country Music,” the iconic legend Loretta Lynn, Emmy Russell will not be getting special favors. Bryan will be judging her just like he would judge other contestants.

“To be able to say that your grandmother is Loretta Lynn, that certainly gets the room’s attention,” Luke Bryan admitted. Even though that is true, he also said “Obviously, Emmy’s got the goods.”

This was proven when Luke Bryan did not gush over Emmy Russell’s last performance. He some negative things to say about her. Despite this, he did tell her he believed Loretta Lynn would be proud of her granddaughter. Perhaps he was hedging his bets with that comment, just in case there are country music gods watching him.
