Joy-Anna Duggar Arkansas RV Park Property Update
Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and her husband, Austin Forsyth, have been facing some serious financial woes. The former reality television star and her husband had a state lien put on their property. This was due to the fact the couple owed the state of Arkansas back taxes.
How Much Did Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth Owe?
According to the state of Arkansas, the Counting On star and her husband owed over $1,300 in unpaid taxes. Although this doesn’t compare to the over $500k Wendy Williams owes in federal taxes, it is still a serious amount of money to in taxes.
The Arkansas state tax lien is for the years 2019, 2021 and 2022. Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and Austin Forsyth paid off that tax lien only two days ago, on March 13, 2024. This is according to the Arkansas court records.
How Did They Pay Off Their Tax Debt?
Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and her husband paid off their tax debt shortly after they sold some property. The property they sold was purchased in August of 2022. The couple paid over $160,000 for the 11-acre lot of land. This land was located near Elkins, Arkansas. Elkins is about three hours northwest of Little Rock, near the Oklahoma border.
The couple had planned on turning the land into an RV park. The couple’s love for camping made them want to create a camping experience for other people who loved camping.
Elkin, Arkansas Said “No” To Joy-Anna Duggar
The Elkin community did not want an RV park. The couple wanted it so badly, the petitioned to have the parcel of land rezoned. The community was so opposed to the RV park, they spoke out against it as a planning commission meeting when the rezoning petition was brough to the commission. Even the local school district opposed the camp grounds Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth and her husband wanted to build.
“I just feel like putting it in the middle of a small city, next to a big school, and then also a city that’s having water and drainage issues, traffic issues, and then adding possible spots for up to almost 190 RVs, that’s kind of worrisome for everybody, I think,” Madeline Haydon, a member of the Elkin community, told the planning commission during the meeting.
Even the Elkins School District Superintendent, Jeremy Mangrum, spoke out against the RV park Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth wanted to build with her husband. “From a school district’s standpoint, we can’t support the location of this RV park,” he stated.
Tell us what you think. Why do so many television stars have such issues with their taxes? Do you think it was an attempt to defraud the state of Arkansas? Or, was it an accidental mistake made on their taxes? What do you think Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth’s idea for an RV park? Was the community opposed to it because of the reasons she stated or because she is a Duggar? Sound off in the comment section below.
