Doe Doe Shannon was the one who helped raise her sister, Mama June Shannon. She then took over and was there for June’s daughters when their mom was unavailable. Doe Doe would watch Pumpkin’s children, bring her necessities, and ensure that they had what they needed. Unfortunately, a miscommunication happened this season of Family Crisis. It caused Doe Doe to miss Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson’s high school graduation. This made everyone in the family livid as they felt she was being absent and June had to have her say.

In a clip from the Friday, March 8th, 2024 episode, Doe Doe let June know what went down when it came to Alana’s graduation. According to In Touch Weekly, June is adamant that everyone invited knew the exact details. Doe Doe has proof that this was not the case.

“My message – and I can show you on my phone – was between me and Alana. I asked her several times for the day. I was never in a group text. The only words I got was, ‘It’s the end of the month. It’s the last week in the month.’”

Slammed For Deadbeat Parenting

Doe Doe Shannon reminds Mama June Shannon how she was never there for her girls. Therefore, she had to be the one to step up. As they are bickering, Doe Doe lets her sister know that she was the “mom” for Anna Cardwell, Jessica Shannon, Pumpkin, and Alana Thompson. More so, she had to do what June should have been doing all along. However, she had no problem backing off so June could reconnect with her girls. Yet, she did not want her presence all of the years she was there to be discredited.
