Lisa Vanderpump Joins TV Legend As Reality Show Co-Host
Lisa Vanderpump will be changing up the rules for a reality TV show after teaming up with one of television’s most recognizable faces.
As one of the original cast members of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump knows a thing or two about becoming an iconic TV personality. After struggling to make a name for herself as an actress, Vanderpump found success opening up SUR Restaurant & Lounge in May 2005. Nearly a decade later, the restaurant would become the focal point of the RHOBH spin-off show, Vanderpump Rules.
With two successful hits on Bravo, Vanderpump doesn’t have much left to prove. But she will once again look to expand her brand.
Lisa Vanderpump To Co-Host Reality Show With Celebrity Chef
As first reported by E! News, Lisa Vanderpump will be teaming up with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay on his electric reality show. Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars puts food and drink industry entrepreneurs through an array of difficult challenges that put them to the test. The challenges are designed to showcase their business skills, test their drive, and convince Ramsay that they have what it takes to earn his personal investment of $250,000.
For the show’s second season, Vanderpump will join Ramsay as co-host. In a February 13 interview with E! News, Vanderpump spoke about her excitement. “I know Gordon pretty well, I mean we have restaurants next to each other,” Lisa said. “I’d always wanted to do a show with him so when they said, ‘Hey, how do you fancy a second season of Food Stars?’ I was like, ‘I’m in.'”
Sharing Vanderpump’s excitement, Ramsay promises that the show will offer its fair share of fireworks. “This show is like no other because I’m joined with a cohost. A powerhouse in Lisa Vanderpump,” Gordon revealed. “I think sparks are going to fly.”
Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars Looks To Rewrite The Rules
Throughout his career, Gordon Ramsay has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind. On his entrepreneurial-based reality show, Ramsay often speaks some hard truths to the show’s contestants. The restaurant business can often be a cruel and unforgiving endeavor that can bankrupt even the smartest businessperson. Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars aims to prepare the next generation of restaurant moguls.
In a May 2023 interview with Variety, Ramsay spoke about the reality of business ownership. “As you know, 68% percent of businesses fail in the first 18 months,” Ramsay told Variety. “And so I have to judge this on the business acumen, but more importantly, the decisions and the quickness of how decisive they need to be in the cutthroat business world.”
According to Ramsay, his experience helped guide the production of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars. “So I need to get behind the character to understand the business. And then as always, stress test those businesses and look for weaknesses,” he said. “I’ve made mistakes in business, but I’ve never made that same mistake twice. Everything I’ve learned and the restaurants I’ve opened, and the huge success and the issues I’ve had to deal with, across the whole sector, has gone into this show.”
