‘The View’ Why Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Spreading Lies

Gossip About Megan McCain Following Her Departure From The View
At the time that Megan McCain was on The View, there were allegedly several leaks to the press. There were stories about conflict between the hosts and John McCain, Megan’s father, who even stated that Ana Navarro was a “surrogate for the Biden campaign” when she took his daughter’s spot on the panel.

The remaining hosts compared Megan McCain to Hunter Biden and she was beyond furious. “I’ve never been accused of a crime in my life, I’ve never touched a drug in my life, I’ve never gone to rehab, I’ve never cheated on anyone I’ve ever dated because when I was growing up, my parents said, ‘Don’t lie, steal, or cheat, and everything else is fair game,'” McCain told people listening to her podcast.
She continued her rant, saying that she didn’t realize that when she took the job on the talk show she’d continue to be talked about for years after her departure.
Why Whoopi Goldberg Admits To Spreading Fake Gossip
Earlier this year, Whoopi Goldberg opened up about not wanting to be involved in the drama of the co-host’s group chat. She revealed that she continues to leave the group conversation but Joy Behar always adds her back in. Despite not wanting to be involved in drama, Whoopi has admitted to spreading fake news.
On Friday’s episode, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg talked about how devastating gossip can be when you live your life in the public eye. Even though they chose careers in the entertainment industry, they believe everyone should be able to have a certain level of privacy.
Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested “You know what I like to do? I like to try to catch a gossip. Because what you can do is you can plant false information and see if it makes its way around.”

That is when Whoopi erupted, admitting to leaking fake gossip to help pinpoint a mole behind the scenes on The View. “We have done that, we have done that. We did that to see who was talking. Yeah.”
Upon her admission, Joy Behar looked absolutely confused. Sunny Hostin spoke up, “Now, you see, that’s a little bit of gossip I would like to know about.” There was no further discussion about what fake gossip was leaked to the press though.
