Reality dating shows are a dime a dozen in 2024. However, when Married at First Sight came around in 2014, it was truly ahead of its time. These days, the idea of marrying a stranger has been explored in multiple aspects, with shows like Love Is Blind and others. MAFS set itself apart through its premise of marrying a complete stranger at the altar and having participants put all of their trust in the experts.
The first few years of Married at First Sight was when the show was at its peak. Back then, it was common to get one season a year. This gave viewers plenty of time to invest in the new relationships on the show and really get to know the couples on a deeper level.

Married at First Sight fans agree that Season 17 is one of the worst seasons ever of the show, with many crowning it the undisputed worst season in the franchise’s long history. This season gave viewers a MAFS first, a groom getting ditched at the altar. The way a lot of fans see it, this season has only gone downhill since.
