Is ‘American Idol’ Scheming Against Luke Bryan?
The rumors and problems around American Idol continue to circulate. The latest issue is the possibility the ABC reality competition show is in the process of scheme against current judge, country music superstar, Luke Bryan. It is possible the American Idol executives have plans for the show that do not include Bryan.
Is American Idol Judge Luke Bryan Irrelevant?
It appears the executives at the show are thinking the country crooner is no longer relevant. This is why they are thinking of replacing him as a judge next season. “It’s doubtful Luke will continue on Idol after this season,” a source close to the show revealed.
Luke Bryan would be replaced at the same time Katy Perry would be leaving the show. Recently, the only female judge currently on the reality television show, announced that she will not be returning next season. This will be her final season on American Idol.
Who Would Replace Luke Bryan on American Idol?
When Katy Perry announced she would not be continuing as judge, there were several names being floated around about who would replace her. Taylor Swift was one of those names. Another name mentioned was Jennifer Lopez.
Currently, it appears American Idol is most interested in having Jelly Roll replace Luke Bryan as a judge. The “Son Of A Sinner” singer has already agreed to be a mentor for this season. He is also scheduled to perform as well.
American Idol Has Concerns About Jelly Roll
Despite Jelly Roll being their first choice to replace Luke Bryan as a judge, American Idol executives do have concerns about Jelly Roll taking over as judge. Based on Jelly Roll’s personality and character, those concerns may very well have some merit.
“Their only worry is that Jelly [Roll] is such a sweet guy, he won’t have the heart to be brutally honest in critiquing a contestant,” the source close to American Idol revealed. “He would instantly make the show hotter and more relevant!”
No Response From Jelly Roll
At the time of publication there had yet to be a response from Jelly Roll. It is doubtful the show’s executives have offered him Luke Bryan’s job yet. Despite that, Jelly Roll has probably heard the rumors and is thinking about the answer he would give them.
Even though Jelly Roll has yet to respond, the source close to American Idol claims Luke Bryan has responded. According to that source, Bryan has given Jelly Roll his full endorsement for taking over his job as a judge.
