Wendy Williams’ Son Kevin Worried & Blocked From Contact With Mom
Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter, has opened up about what it has been like to have limited contact with his mother over the last year and a half. Since the former daytime talk show host has been put under temporary guardianship, her family has not been given any information about where she is located and has been blocked from contacting her. Now, the family is questioning if she’s really getting the help she so desperately needs.
Keep reading to see what Kevin Hunter has to say about the extremely limited contact with his mom and what they plan to do.
Wendy Williams’ Family Opens Up About Guardianship
Alex Finnie, Wendy Williams’ niece, appeared on The View Thursday to talk about the upcoming Lifetime documentary following her aunt’s struggles dealing with multiple health issues in the public eye. In the interview with The View panel, Alex revealed that the family has spoken to Wendy, but none of them know where she is and they are blocked from contacting her.
Evidently, when Wendy calls a member of her family it comes from a blocked number so they aren’t able to reach out to her. On top of that, the family was given very little say when it came to her temporary guardianship, which was court-ordered in New York.

An insider close to the family told The U.S. Sun, “Kevin has spoken to his mom occasionally, and he knows she’s in some sort of treatment facility, but he’s not sure exactly what it is, or where it is,” an insider said. “He is also questioning if she’s getting the care she really needs.”
In addition to not being able to contact his mother directly, the insider revealed that her guardian has been impossible to reach. This has been the case since June of 2023 when Kevin shared that he knew his mother was getting help but he did not know where. Actually, he didn’t even know that his mom had been moved out of New York to receive care.
Photos Of Kevin Hunter Surface, Show A Stressed Son
The state of Wendy Williams’ guardianship, her health, and the care she is receiving are weighing heavily on the family. It is clear that her son, sister, niece, and other members of the family are concerned and wish to have contact with Wendy.
Photos of Kevin Hunter in Florida surfaced on Friday. He was photographed with Wendy Williams’ brother Tommy Williams and her father, Thomas Williams Sr. Kevin looks sad and stressed out amid the publicity his mom and the family are receiving leading up to the release of the Where Is Wendy Williams? documentary on Lifetime this weekend.

The photos also come right after Wendy Williams’ diagnosis was made public on Thursday. It was revealed that she was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), the same conditions that affect actor Bruce Willis. The family seemingly learned of her diagnosis at the same time the public did.
Where Is Wendy Williams? is set to air on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
