Three years ago, Bachelor Nation fans saw that Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell were falling in love. However, it ended after she faced allegations of racism. On social media, photos appeared of her attending a plantation-themed party back in high school. She apologized for it, but it stalled her relationship with Matt. He chose her but did not actually propose.

Matt James Broke Up But Got Back With Rachael

Things went south for a while between the couple, but they got back together in April 2021. Since then, they often posted their activities on social media. As time goes by, fans become convinced that a proposal must be just around the corner. The Bachelor lead seems to be in a good place with his girl, and it’s been a long time since they met.

Late last year, Matt James and Rachael purchased a home together, which is a major step towards permanence. Located in Jupiter, Florida, fans took it as a major sign that the Bachelor couple would soon get into a proposal. However, it has not happened yet. But, it seems pretty certain that it isn’t far off now.

The Bachelor Has Epic Plans For His Girl’s Proposal?

People Magazine caught up with James when he promoted the “Discover Samsung Spring sale” this week. The Bachelor Nation star spoke about engagement and his tone almost seemed incredulous that anyone would doubt his intention to propose.

We wouldn’t be together if that wasn’t the same goal. I’m definitely excited for what the future looks like with us.

Matt James also talked about doing the deed in his own time, and not according to the wishes of other people. In fact, he described that as “a recipe for disaster.” That doesn’t mean no thought goes into doing something extra-special for Rachael when the time comes.

It is going to be something special because Rachael’s very special.

As he surprised her with a trip to Japan for Christmas. it will be epic to see what he tops that with. Will his engagement to Rachael Kirkconnell happen this year? Unfortunately, he isn’t saying. As he tends to share funny photos of his girl a lot, perhaps the ABC star will tease Bachelor Nation before the real deal happens.

In the meantime, those who miss Chris Harrison might hope they get engaged because their favorite host eventually left the franchise over the racism issue. At least his loss to the show might have been for something worthwhile in terms of successful romance.
