Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s widower, Eldridge Toney has made the sweetest gesture for the family. He had been with Anna since 2017 with them tying the knot in March 2023. It had been a long time since Anna Cardwell really felt a bond with her family. She was estranged from her mother, Mama Juen Shannon for years due to different reasons. Then, Anna was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma and it turned their world upside down. They all united to help Anna as well as her two daughters, Kylee and Kaitlyn though she had a longtime boyfriend, Eldridge Toney. She started seeing him after she and her former husband, Michael Cardwell parted ways. They ended up getting secretly married shortly after Anna was diagnosed.
He has made a conscious effort to try and stay in Kylee and Kaitlyn’s lives though they have been separated. Kylee lives with her father, Michael whereas Kaitlyn lives with Mama June and Justin Stroud though custody is being challenged. Now, Eldridge has proven he is a standup guy based on a recent action. According to a Reddit thread, he did something special for Anna’s sister, Jessica Shannon’s girlfriend, Shyann. The OP wrote this:

This led one Redditor to ask why Anna Cardwell did not set it up for Eldridge Toney to have custody of Kaitlyn. He has been in the girls’ lives for years so it would only make sense. Now, Michael Cardwell is fighting as he and Anna had a great arrangement. Yet, Mama June will do whatever she can to keep Kaitlyn yet fans have seen the poor treatment of the young girl. They do not think that it is the place for her at all. In any case, this is proof of why Anna and Eldridge lasted until the very end.
