There have always been issues in Mama June Shannon’s life. She has had health concerns, especially during the last season of Family Crisis. June was hospitalized and no one knew exactly what was wrong with her. Her children found out she was back in Alabama when they FaceTimed with her. They saw that she was in a hospital bed when the child support check for Honey Boo Boo did not arrive on time. So, Pumpkin phoned her and saw their mom was not doing well.
At the same time, she has battled substance abuse and does not take the best care of herself. Fans have noted that she is red in the face, her skin and lips are chapped, and she is constantly swollen. That being said, they recently caught her chowing down on a peanut butter cup. It made them think she really does not care what happens so a Reddit thread was started. The OP wrote this:
