‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ A Reality Show Or Staged?
Is the hit WeTV series, Mama June: Family Crisis a true reality show or is it staged? Fans often wonder about the elements of shows like this. Especially when they see that the cast does not interact when they are not filming. So, what is going on with this series in particular? Read on for more details.
Mama June: Family Crisis A Reality Show Or Staged?
It seemed awfully peculiar when Anna Cardwell returned to reality television after staying away since her Here Comes Honey Boo Boo days. She and her mother, Mama June Shannon had long been estranged. Then, June was having a wedding shower with Justin Stroud and his family thought her daughters were coming. They had no idea the girls were not speaking to June. Then, Anna showed up after having surgery and no one understood why she was there. She was not close with June so it had to be set up by production.
June even claimed she and her sister, Doe Doe only talk when they film. Now, according to In Touch Weekly, the family is answering if the show is staged or not. June spoke to Distractify and had this to say:
“Look, I wish our life could be scripted, because y’all have watched it all. Y’all watched Alana grow up in the pageants. Y’all watched our family, you know, lose one show … we bounced back and came back, and I went through a weight loss, I went through drug addiction, I went through recovery. I went through losing my family, getting my family back. All of that cannot be made up. I wish it could.”
However, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird is not singing the same tune. She claimed that there was a false storyline between her former “stepfather” Sugar Bear and her husband, Josh Efird. Additionally, the couple does not live in the home they are seen in on Family Crisis. Rather that is a dummy house and the home they have is much smaller. It was too small to film in and their real home had been trashed with Pumpkin and Josh having four littles.
A Fine Line
Though Mama June will always maintain the authenticity of Family Crisis and the different show variations, there is a fine line. When her daughter, Anna Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, the whole family rallied around her. However, some think that they have been using her illness as a storyline and to stay relevant. At the same time, longtime followers of the family have found inconsistencies in the show from way back. A Reddit thread was started to discuss Pumpkin’s wedding.
They showed pictures of the actual lavish wedding with the OP writing this:
- To all you fans who think you watched Pumpkin & Josh’s wedding 💍💒 in Vegas. The real wedding was at a different time with his family & the rest of Pumpkin’s family. The show is staged, scripted & fake.
On the show, she and Josh got married in Las Vegas but she confirmed on a podcast that it was staged. So, this will be a mystery to keep viewers guessing.
