Is Discovery’s ‘Bering Sea Gold’ Cancelled?
It’s mid-February already, and no official announcement arrived from Discovery Channel about a new season of Bering Sea Gold. A month ago, Emily Riedel reminded fans on her YouTube channel, that “In [the] summer of 2023, for the first time in over a decade, the production company did not shoot Bering Sea Gold for Discovery. So I lost my job.” Furthermore, there’s the fact that after her second child, Arthur arrived, she seemed ready for retirement from mining. So, fans discuss whether the show was canceled.
Bering Sea Gold Fans Fear The Show’s Cancellation
In October last year, fans who watched “The Last Duel” feared it was the final episode of the Discovery Channel show. Jane Kilcher referred to the finale, which made people wonder about the show’s continuation. However, as there are two seasons in the show, summer, and ice, some people thought she might just refer to the ice season.
Bering Sea Gold brings some hints of renewal despite the long hiatus. It was Jane Kilcher who told people about a new season. However, it was for the next one that appeared in October, titled “Captains of Industry.” As she filmed with Emily, her return might be up in the air. Notably, it’s not unusual for Discovery Channel to leave their viewers hanging about another season.
Discovery Cancelled The Show?
On Reddit on the weekend, fans of the show discussed the future of the show after an OP raised the question of cancellation.

Some people thought so. And, the reason for that seemed to stem from the fact that members of the cast took to YouTube to post their own mining adventures. “Bryan who works on Vern’s boat” was one of them, said someone in the know. Meanwhile, another person commented on Emily Riedel’s Channel that she runs on YouTube.
However, it seems that filming for Bering Sea Gold is going ahead. Here’s what people said about that:
