Since Theresa Caputo has been in the public eye, her hairstyle has been an easy target. As much as it sets her apart, it’s also fodder for viewers to pick apart. There’s an interesting story attached to how Theresa got her look, though, and it’s one people may not expect.
According to Caputo, years ago, she was grieving the death of her grandmother. While she was still mourning, she made the choice to visit the hairdresser. At the time, she went ahead and had her long locks cut. “Just cut it, cut it. It’s not the right length,” she told her hairdresser.
She said in a recent interview that this was the “worst mistake” she ever made at the salon. She offered some words of wisdom to go along with that as well.
Caputo advised: “If you’re having an emotional moment, don’t ever go to your hairdresser. That is the worst mistake you can ever make because that’s what happened to me.”
How Theresa Caputo’s Hairstyle Has Evolved Over The Years
Of course, Theresa Caputo’s hairdo didn’t evolve overnight. However, it was that moment of grieving where she chopped her hair off that paved the way for the recognizable look she rocks now. For one, Theresa knew that she wanted to grow out her hair again.
The other thing she knew was that she didn’t like having hair in her face. “I just like my hair off my face,” she said in a recent interview with the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. No matter what Long Island Medium fans say of her hair, Theresa Caputo accomplishes both goals with her look: her hair is long while also staying out of her face.
She may need a lot of product to get the poof styled just right, but, all these years later, it seems to be working for her. Theresa Caputo even rocks it in her new Lifetime show, Theresa Caputo: Raising Spirits. When it comes to her hair, it seems the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach is just right for her.
