‘Farmer Wants A Wife’ All You Need To Know About Grace Girard
From her hometown to her favorite sports team, here’s everything you need to know about Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Grace Girard.
On February 1, Fox’s popular rural-themed dating show will debut its highly anticipated second season. Farmer Wants A Wife is based on the original 2001 British show of the same name. The show connects four men with a group of available women in the hopes of finding their soulmate. The women will find out what it’s like to live and work on a farm while doing their best to win over their potential future spouse.
In Season 2, Grace Girard finds herself as one of those women who will attempt to find love.
An Inside Look At Grace Girard
As a Wisconsin native, Girard has spent most of her life inside “The Badger State.” She was raised in Caledonia before heading to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Girard earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2019. While speaking to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Girard says she always knew she would find her way to Madison. “Growing up, I always knew I wanted to go to Madison,” Girard said. “Once I got in there, that was like a dream come true.”

After graduating, Girard decided to stay put in Wisconsin. “I’ve just continued to be the biggest supporter of Wisconsin,” she said. “I absolutely love the state, I am super proud to be from here. I say that all the time, I feel like.” She says that she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, and hanging out in Milwaukee.
Girard’s passion for her home state also includes her support for Wisconsin sports teams. “I’ve always loved Wisconsin,” said Girard. “I am like the biggest Wisconsin sports fan.” She is an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football teams.
From Southeastern Wisconsin To Farmer Wants A Wife
Grace Girard’s pathway to joining the Fox dating show wasn’t exactly a detailed plan. She told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that her aunt adored the show when it first premiered. So when her aunt learned that Farmer Wants A Wife was looking for Season 2 contestants, she sent Girard the application. “She was like, ‘This sounds like something you would love. I feel like a farmer would be great for you,'” Girard said. “So, I just on a whim applied.”
@girardgracee This will go straight to his head.
Despite being skeptical, Girard’s application won over the show’s production team. After an hour-long video call and a few other chats, she was in. “I was definitely in disbelief,” Girard said. “I was just kind of surprised that they picked me. But, at the same time, I was like, I feel like I got this far just based on my personality and being a genuinely good person. A kind person. So, I was excited to let the world see that.”
One person who was excited to see Girard was Brandon Rogers, the farmer who Girard will attempt to win over on the show. “When I talked to Brandon the first episode, he was like, ‘Part of the reason I picked you is ’cause you’re from an agricultural-leaning state,'” Girard said. “And, I kind of was like ‘Oh wow. I am from the Dairy State. I feel like there’s a lot of farms around me. But, I have actually never really been involved in farm life at all.”
“It’s really just a fresh take on reality dating,” Girard said. “It’s a very unique concept that they would kind of have these city girls meet this rural lifestyle and the farming lifestyle.”
