Soap star Jordi Vilasuso caught the attention of many following his recent update about his newborn daughter, Lucy. The 42-year-old actor, who starred in many soaps, such as Guiding Light, All My ChildrenDays of Our Lives, and The Young and The Restless recently begged his social media followers for prayers after his baby got sent to the NICU. Now, Jordi and his wife, Kaitlin, are back with another big update regarding their baby girl. This special family suffered heartache and loss before baby Lucy was born and now their little miracle has been fighting for her life. Keep reading to see how Lucy is doing today.

Jordi Vilasuso Welcomes Third Child

On January 7, 2024, Jordi and Kaitlin introduced their third child to the world. The married couple thanked all of their family, friends, and fans for the prayers and positive messages. Jordi and his wife suffered two miscarriages before welcoming baby Lucy. Due to this, they felt so blessed to have another child.

“I wish I could say that it was a purely faith filled journey from our first loss until today, but the God’s honest truth is that knowing you were holding our family in your prayers was often what got us through. I know I’ve said it before, but we are truly forever grateful,” Kaitlin added. But after a few weeks, the two shared a worrying update about their newborn.

What Happened To Baby Lucy?

On January 26, Jordi and his wife took to social media to share heartbreaking news about their newborn daughter, Lucy. According to their joint post, things unexpectedly took a turn for the worse, and their baby was sent to the NICU. The doctors also revealed that Lucy suffered from a “partially collapsed right lung.”

Kaitlin and Jordi Vilasuso also begged everyone to pray for their daughter amid her difficult journey. “Please please pray with us for miraculous healing for Lucy’s precious little body. We love her so much and just want her home and happy and in our arms,” the two added.

Jordi Vilasuso & Wife Give Big Updates For Baby Lucy

Jordi and Kaitlin recently took to Instagram to share new updates about baby Lucy. According to the mother of three, she’s happy that she’s finally able to hold her girl. She also thanked everyone for all the prayers and love. The married couple later revealed that Lucy has been a fighter and that her lungs are getting better.

“The biggest praise report is that the x-ray of her lungs looked significantly better than the one they took the night she was transferred to the NICU- PRAISE GOD,” Kaitlin and Jordi Vilasuso added. However, they clarified that Lucy is still on the CPAP machine, and they’re praying that her respiratory system will remain normal as she slowly gets weaned off of the CPAP. If her vitals remain good, she will be moved to regular oxygen and have her feeding tube removed. Kaitlin also said that they’ve been physically and mentally exhausted from the past week, but they will never stop praying for more strength. “Thank you for loving us and for caring about our babies like you do. As always, we are forever grateful,” she added.

Jordi and Kaityln Vilasuso received love and prayers from people all over the spectrum. Including huge daytime soap names, Y&R’s Doug Davidson & Laura Lee Bell, Bold and the Beautiful‘s Darin Brooks and his wife Kelly Kruger, and General Hospital’s star Maurice Benard. Old friend & cast mate from Days of Our Lives Vincent Irizarry shared a beautiful prayer on Vilasuso’s IG. The support from the soap world was enormous and touching.
