Breaking news for daytime soap fans — One Life To Live and Young and the Restless star Andrea Evans has been confirmed dead at the age of 66. As a force to be reckoned in the soap world, she created a name for herself landing roles in several major soap operas including One Life To LiveYoung & The RestlessBold and the Beautiful, and Passions. 

Her most notable role that caused her to rise to fame in the soap opera world, however, was when she landed playing a troubled teenager named Tina Lord on ABC’s One Life To Live.

Young And The Restless & One Life To Live: Andrea Evans Dead At 66

According to Deadline, Andrea Evans passed away yesterday (Sunday, July 9th) at the age of 66. Her cause of death has been made public. Sadly, Andrea passed away after losing her battle with cancer. Andrea’s casting director Don Carroll is who officially announced her passing. With so many memorable characters attached to her acting resume, it is no surprise her fans quickly took to social media to play tribute and discuss some of her favorite roles.

According to IMDb, Andrea Evans had 22 acting credits attached to her resume at the time of her passing. Her acting career spanned from the years 1978 to 2020. Her final role was the character Patty Walker on Amazon Prime’s The Bay. She played the role of Patty Walker for a total of 12 episodes.

It was in 1978, when soap casting director, Mary Jo Slater, selected Andrea Evans to play the role of Tina Lord in One Life To Live. From that moment, her career really took off. Andrea Evans’ “bad girl” persona was a huge hit with viewers. She stuck with the role of Tina until 1981. From there, she went on to play the role of Patty Williams in Young and the Restless for just one year (1983-1984). Then, she rebounded to One Life To Live in 1985. In 1988, she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her incredible talent in the soap world.

Outside of her acting career, Andrea Evans was also extremely passionate about animals and donated a significant amount of her time to a few different animal rescue organizations over the years.

The late soap star is survived by her daughter, Kylie Lyn Rodriguez.
