‘Life Below Zero: First Alaskans’ Get To Know Joel Jacko
Life Below Zero: First Alaskans from National Geographic follows hardy people, who live in a harsh environment, and Joel Jacko is one of them. Like his peers, he needs to know how to survive in wild areas. If you don’t know, the docuseries is a spinoff of the original Life Below Zero and it provides a chance to learn more about the people who live there.
Life Below Zero: First Alaskans Is Different?
Names like Sue Aikens are familiar to National Geographic fans. Always on the edge of death and injury, some people think she made too much drama about her lifestyle. Mind you she ended up nearly being a polar bear’s breakfast. So, that might make anyone feel nervous. However, some people grow bored with the theme, and First Alaskans didn’t initially get rave reviews on IMDb.
Still, while the storyline might seem similar, National Geographic fans enjoy getting to know new faces. The spinoff synopsis explains:
Life Below Zero: First Alaskans Follows Alaskan Natives who are focusing on their right to preserve their threatened ways of life, to ensure its survival for the next thousand years.
Notably, Joel Jacko is one of the main cast characters.
Who Is Joel Jacko?
According to Distractify the Alaskan native fishes and hunts, and he also owns “KMZ LLC Construction.” Unlike the original docuseries, it’s more about “bridging the gap between the modern world and other ways of living and building that he has grown up around.” In the show, viewers see that Joel Jacko married a non-Alaskan native named Jacqueline, and they raise a fostered indigenous daughter named Anzlie.
More information about Joel Jacko from the Life Below Zero: First Alaskans show, revealed that he’s open about “growing up as an Athabascan Indian.” However, he’s not open about sharing his social media as his Instagram is private and his wife doesn’t seem to have an account.
People who tuned in to watch the show a year ago enjoyed the differences between the two shows. YouTube comments seemed more appreciative than those on IMBd.
- National Geographic you made an amazing decision to highlight the First Alaskans. Thank you so much for bringing it into our homes and sharing what a beautiful, appreciative, creative, hardworking culture they are. I have a deeper appreciation and profound respect for indigenous tribes…
- I love how they honor the entirety of the animal and don’t take too much of it throws off the ecosystem. ❤

I love all the First Alaskans except one of them. But my favorite is Joel Jacko. He seems to be kind, knowledgeable, and handsome. He will not have trouble finding a companion. I’m really curious if he has ever spotted a Bigfoot. Lake Iliamna has had lots of Bigfoot stories. take care Joel.
