In November 2021, Erin posted a lengthy message on Instagram talking about her decision to leave Bates Sister Boutique. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, God has been shifting their focus as a family, and they’ve been in the process of passing off their part in the business.
“Our God is always so faithful in leading us through different seasons of life, and we are certainly thankful for this one and eagerly anticipating what He has next for our family!” she added. Many were saddened by the news, while others commended the 32-year-old’s big decision. But some Redditors think there’s a different reason why she left the company.

Some Reddit users recalled a clip from May 2021 showing Erin, Carlin, and Whitney in a livestream talking about their store, Bates Sister Boutique. The Bringing Up Bates stars looked so excited as they shared the things coming to the store. However, the poster noticed Erin cutting off the two in the middle of their promotions and continued talking almost endlessly. Others also pointed out the “annoyed” body language and facial expressions of Whitney and Carlin.
