Read on for more details of this precious little one’s homecoming.

Miracle Baby Paines

Early in Erin and Chad’s marriage, the couple shared that they had experienced a miscarriage. As a result, Erin learned that she had a rare blood clotting disorder that would make it difficult for her to conceive and carry a baby to term. Due to her condition, she was required to do daily injections during all of her pregnancies in order to prevent any issues. Following the birth of their fourth child, Holland (Holly), Erin’s health took a turn.

In February 2021, the TV personality took to Instagram to share a health update. In the post, she explained that over the past few months, she had to have 3 separate surgeries. The surgeries were necessary due to internal bleeding she was experiencing from ovarian cysts rupturing. In the end, Erin had one entire ovary removed and the majority of the second. Undoubtedly, this meant that the chance of future babies was low. Since that time, the couple have had two children, Finley and now William.

NICU Stay

William was born five weeks earlier than he was expected. It is not uncommon for premature babies to require a bit of time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Shortly after he was born, doctors explained to the Paines that they were going to take him up to the NICU to be fully evaluated. Ultimately, the infant spent a total of six days in the NICU before he was released to go home.

Welcome Home, William!

In the Paines’ most recent vlog, they shared a behind-the-scenes view of their ride home from the hospital and the older Paine siblings meeting their brother. Erin’s sister, Michaela Bates Keilen, was home with the older children. As Erin and Chad are pulling up to the house with their new little one, Michaela records the other children standing at the door bouncing anxiously. She and her nephew and nieces took the time to put up decorations to welcome their parents and new sibling home.

Erin walks in beaming from ear to ear as she greets each of her children and has them sit on the couch before they meet the new baby. Chad walks in cradling William in his arms. The girls are all giddy wanting to hold the baby when their mom tells them, “Carson’s gonna be first because he prayed for him the longest.”

Chad & Erin’s Children’s Reactions

On the way home from the hospital, Erin and Chad discussed what they expected the older kids’ reactions to be, and they were pretty spot on.

Carson was beaming with joy and excitement as he finally held his brother. He prayed long and hard for a baby brother after being the only boy for so long. The love was truly tangible in the video.

Brooklyn, Holland, and Everly were all extremely overjoyed to have another little baby in the house to cuddle. Everly, the designated cuddle bug of the family, shared that her favorite thing to do was snuggle with baby William.

Finley, having been the youngest for the past almost 2 years, was expected to be jealous of her new baby brother. In the vlog, she appears to be unsure of what to do or think. This changes drastically when Erin helps her “hold” the baby. Finley was immediately all smiles as she took in all of William’s tiny features.
