Hugh Hefner’s Widow Claims Dr. Phil Wanted Her For His Son?
Hugh Hefner’s widow Crystal Hefner has a new memoir coming out called Only Say Good Things. In this book, she discusses her life as a Playboy playmate, her marriage to Hugh Hefner, and her life in that wild world. However, there was also a part of the book that attacked reality TV icon Dr. Phil McGraw.
Here is what Crystal Hefner had to say about Dr. Phil and her accusations toward the reality TV star.
Crystal Hefner says Dr. Phil is a sinister man
While the book is titled Only Say Good Things, Crystal Hefner had some very bad things to say about Dr. Phil McGraw in her memoir. She said that she was getting to know Phil’s son Jordan and he sent her to talk to his dad. This was while Crystal was engaged to Hugh Hefner. However, she said that there were some ulterior motives surrounding this meeting.
Crystal said that she went to meet with Dr. Phil and he was trying to convince her to give up something that she never should have let go of. She referred to him as a “bad actor” and said that he was “sinister.” She said he posed the meeting as a good man trying to help her. That is not how Crystal said it came across. Instead, she said he came across as an “entitled man used to getting his way.” She said his only goal was to get Jordan what he wanted (via The U.S. Sun).
Crystal said she entered into the relationship with Jordan after Hugh Hefner said they were getting engaged on Christmas Eve 2010. According to Crystal, she questioned Hugh about the money she was getting paid for the reality show based on their wedding. She then tried to leave, but staff “detained” her. She then met Jordan and thought he could be a way out of the Playboy Mansion.
Crystal Hefner blames Dr. Phil for her situation
Crystal Hefner said that she felt that Jordan was a “safe haven” while she was trying to escape Hugh Hefner. She said that Hugh was planning the wedding without her input and she wanted to find a place in the world outside of Playboy. Jordan made her feel “important” and this led her to meet his dad.
Crystal Hefner said she went to Dr. Phil’s mansion in Beverly Hills and it was “surreal.” She said he told her that a 25-year-old woman shouldn’t be “trapped” in the Playboy Mansion while she had her whole life ahead of her. She took his advice and moved her things out of the mansion. Days before the wedding, she went into hiding at Jordan’s and Hugh Hefner canceled the wedding.
Crystal then said that Dr. Phil began to make inappropriate comments after this. She overheard him saying his son “bagged a Playmate.” She then saw emails from Jordan’s mom, telling him he needed to leave Crystal, and she chose to leave him before that could happen. Crystal then returned to Hugh Hefner and married him anyway in 2012.
