Peter Weber is a contestant on Season 2 of The Traitors. Why didn’t he ask fellow Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk, who competed in Season 1, for advice? Keep reading for Peter’s explanation.

SPOILER – Did Peter Weber Survive The First Four Episodes?

Season 2 of The Traitors kicked off on January 12 with three episodes. New episodes drop every Thursday. Peter Weber was revealed as a Faithful, though there’s always a chance he could be recruited to the Traitors like Arie Luyendyk was in Season 1.

So far, Peter Weber has managed to avoid being murdered by the Traitors. But will he make it as far as Arie did?

The former Bachelor was so close to winning before bowing out of the competition. Arie ultimately came in fourth place and seems to have some resentment about how it all went down.

Why He Didn’t Ask Arie Luyendyk For Traitors Advice

Peter Weber seems to be doing just fine without Arie Luyendky’s advice, but he’s “regretting it now,” he recently told PEOPLE magazine. So why didn’t he consult his fellow Bachelor alum?

According to Peter, his decision to join The Traitors came at the last minute. “I was just scrambling — getting looks to come to the show and getting all the testing and getting work off and all that,” he explained.

Despite joining the show late, he was excited about it. “It’s obviously like the real-life game of Clue. So just growing up, playing that, loving that, just the mystery behind it, it seemed like an absolute blast.”

Peter did take the time to watch Season 1 before leaving for Scotland. He said that he “admired” Arie’s gameplay in the first season. “He played such good game right until the very end, played it almost as good as you could.”

Regardless of how far Peter gets in Season 2, he looks forward to touching base with Arie. “I’m excited to give him a call after, share our experiences,” he said.

Arie has been busy raising his three kids with wife Lauren Burnham Luykendyk. He recently shared a special milestone on his Instagram. “I think we’ve hit a milestone! Lux wanted to sit next to me on the plane,” Arie wrote alongside a photo of his son next to him on a plane.
