Rehab Staff Let Caleb Willingham Eat Himself To Death, Why?
Caleb Willingham remained in rehab after 1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton left and he ate unhealthy snacks. So, TLC fans wonder why the staff didn’t stop him. She’d reached her goal for gastric surgery, but he had not. So, she told him it was “life or death” if he didn’t stick to his diet. Sadly, it turned out that he found death instead of life.

Tammy Slaton seemed very distressed when she found her husband’s sweet treats. He hadn’t made the weight loss goal the doctor set for him. So, his gastric surgery was denied. As she was back home in Kentucky by then, she couldn’t be there to physically prevent him from over-eating. And, it turns out that rehab staff were not going to stop him, either.
Caleb Willingham told Tammy on FaceTime that he felt depressed because he missed his “wife.” Additionally, he said. “I’m eating my feelings.” Well, his wife knew that was a bad thing. So, she felt disappointed that he didn’t hang out with his friends or play video games. The 1000-Lb Sisters star knew he needed to think about things other than food. And, it made her feel guilty because he laid it on her absence.
Tammy Slaton Under Pressure
TLC revealed that Tammy Slaton cried because she couldn’t control Caleb. Additionally, she was trying to be strong for her sister Amy who was separated from Michael Halterman. Of course, she had to keep strong for herself so she didn’t backslide into over-eating. But with Caleb, she couldn’t rely on rehab workers to intervene in him indulging in snacks. Why is that? Well, the website for the Windsor Lane Health Care facility in Ohion notes that they specialize in memory care and bariatric vent skilled care. The facility provides a therapy center and more. Well, Tammy Slaton found her salvation because she took her therapy seriously. They are not locked in, locked down, or imprisoned in the unit.

Unfortunately, it seems that Tammy’s husband had the choice to live or die, but the care home couldn’t make his decisions for him. In the Reddit comments, 1000-Lb Sisters fans chatted about the sad situation.
- The only one that could have stopped him was himself. Getting therapy with a therapist who specializes in eating disorders is so important. I believe that is why Tammy finally became successful. She did start therapy while there but refused to film it, which was the right choice for her.
- It’s the next town over from me, and I asked my friend who lives in the town if she heard of it. She instantly got heated they only have a dollar general and they take patients there and they will buy up all the food! She gets mad every other week! 🤣
- Dr Now always talked about that on the episodes where people went to rehab. He could control their prescription diets at the hospital but could not once they were in rehab.
What are your thoughts on the fact that the rehab facility was actually a nursing home for those with dementia and bariatric problems? They won’t prevent the patients from buying and eating whatever they like. Mostly, it seems that the therapists help their larger patients fight their addictions, rather than lock them down like hospital patients.
