“When I had my first son Max, I didn’t know how to hold the baby or interact with the baby,” Goild said (via Miami Herald). “I wanted to be more involved but didn’t know how to.” As a result, he set out and created a hands-free baby distractor that they could use when they needed to care for the baby, but keep the infant entertained at the same time.
It is a portable mobile with a sensory rattle that is known now as the Dingle Dangle Baby. The device was named after their new baby daughter’s words she spoke as a baby when she looked at it, saying “dingy dingy.” What started as 12 orders thanks to showing off prototypes, the number grew to hundreds of orders in six months and that is when they chose to go to a manufacturer.
There are several uses for the Dingle Dangle Baby. There is a strap that a parent can wear on their head to distract the baby as they change a diaper. The device can also hang on the side of a crib as a mobile. Parents can also remove it from the connector to allow a baby to play with it as a rattle.
