Even though they no longer share updates online, Jim Bob and Michelle still participate in big Duggar gatherings, which were often documented by some of their kids. There are reports that the patriarch was badly affected by his oldest son’s arrest and has been funding his defenses and attempts for new trials in the hopes of turning over the judgment.
Meanwhile, the 57-year-old mom has been busy spending time with her kids and grandkids. Jessa even revealed that her mother never left her side when she was giving birth to her fifth child. Some Counting On fans also commend Michelle for seemingly allowing her girls to pant, which was against their beliefs.

Jim Bob and Michelle recently suffered a big loss regarding a child. According to reports, the Counting On alums officially lost custody over their 15-year-old nephew, Tyler. It was revealed that the Duggar parents agreed to give guardianship of their nephew to his grandparents, Carolyn and John, in June. This also explains Tyler’s months of absence.
It seems that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will enter 2024 awkwardly after parting ways with Tyler. Regardless, many have commended the two for their efforts to take care of their nephew despite their huge family and busy lives.
Counting On: Who Is Tyler Duggar?
In 2016, Jim Bob and Michelle obtained temporary custody over Tyler. He is the son of Michelle’s niece, Rachel Hutchins. It was reported that she was homeless and unemployed at the time she lost custody of Tyler. Furthermore, she had a few criminal records, making her unfit to raise a child.
Tyler Duggar has made appearances in Counting On and 19 Kids & Counting. He quickly became close to many members of the Duggar family. Due to this, his departure was a sad day for the supersized family. Not much is known about Tyler today. He doesn’t have any social media accounts like the other Duggar kids as well. Regardless, many wish that he’ll do well in his new life with his grandparents.
