What’s The Latest On Golden Bachelor Spinoff?
A senior version of the popular ABC dating show premiered to rave reviews in September. It didn’t take Bachelor Nation fans long to start clamoring for Golden Bachelorette and Golden Bachelor In Paradise spinoffs.
The idea gained traction among Bachelor Nation alums. Even Joe Amabile and BIP bartender Wells Adams weighed in.
ABC has yet to share any concrete information about either spinoff. Instead, they are focusing on the upcoming Golden Wedding and Season 28 of The Bachelor.
But the network’s silence doesn’t stop fans from wishing and speculating about who might be the first Golden Bachelorette.
Fan Beg For Fresh Start For Golden Bachelorette
The tradition in Bachelor Nation is for the next Bachelor or Bachelorette lead to be the previous season’s runner-up or fan-favorite contestant. The network has broken this tradition from time to time, but Season 28 lead Joey Graziadei was runner-up on Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette.
However, just like Gerry Turner broke the mold for age, some fans are hoping ABC will look beyond his contestants for the Golden Bachelorette lead.
One Bachelor Nation fan took to Reddit to discuss ten possible reasons for a fresh start. The fan believes someone new would be more exciting than a prior contestant. Why? Because fans already have preconceived notions about the women from Gerry’s season. They also have their favorites.
Many fans are rooting for Leslie Fhima or Faith Martin. However, the Reddit thread discusses the idea of getting a celebrity as a lead to draw a wider audience.
The list of reasons includes speculation that some of the women may not be ready to move on from Gerry Turner. “If the Golden Bachelor women were as in love with Gerry as they said they were, then it’s highly possible that they’re not over him yet. Women such as Faith and Leslie had deep connections with him, and even exchanged “I love yous” with him,” they wrote.
