Mama June’s Ex SIL, Michael Cardwell, Pays For Kaitlyn’s School Fees
Mama June fans know that Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell’s cancer took her life. But, the mom of two, and June Shannon, didn’t plan for her daughters to live together. Her ex, Michael Cardwell, the dad of Kylee treats Kaitlyn, as his own, and he even pays for her school fees. The news comes amid reports that he fights for custody of Kylee’s big sister.
Anna Cardwell Was Married To Micheal For A few Years
When June Shannon’s daughter met and married Michael, she already had a child, Kaitlyn, by an unknown man. Kaitlyn later became a big half-sister to Kylee in 2015. However, the couple split in 2017. Nonetheless, Michael saw Kylee often and he treated Kaitlyn as his own child. Now that fans heard about the separation of the children and Kaitlyn lives with June Shannon, they feel shocked.
It should be noted that although Anna Cardwell married Eldridge Toney in March this year, they never had a child together. And, as he isn’t the father of either child, he can’t claim custody of them. As June Shannon turned out a less-than-stellar mom to Alana Thomspon, Mama June fans hoped that the girls would not be split up. But, June and Michael Stroud, both with addiction histories, currently have custody of Kaitlyn.
WeTV Fans Hope Micheal Wins Custody – He Pays School Fees
Fans of the show felt horrified that June took Kaitlyn away from her sister. So, they root for Michael to win his case. According to court documents, he thinks of Kaitlyn as his stepdaughter. According to court papers, he has “fully and completely undertaken a permanent, unequivocal, committed, and responsible parental role” in her life. Now, it emerges that he even pays Kaitlyn’s school fees.
Anna Cardwell let her ex-husband parent her first child even though someone else fathered her. So, WeTV fans think he has a good case against June. More court papers obtained by Radar Online now reveal that it wasn’t June, Anna, Eldrige, nor anyone else paying for Kaitlyn to attend a good school. Instead, Michael forks out “tuition at a Christian academy in Irvington, Georgia.”
Anna Cardwell Didn’t Want To Live with Mama June
The outlet reports that it costs “$325 per student due at registration plus yearly tuition itself for $3870, which accounts for $90 weekly.” Furthermore, in the court records, Michael Cardwell noted:
[I am] the] only living person who has shown a constant and continued interest in the minor child’s well being.
He believes that the “best interests” of the child involve him giving Kaitlyn a life where she’s already an integral part of his family. Additionally, he noted that even Anna Cardwell didn’t want to be raised by her own mother. Instead, between the ages of eight and 17, her grandmother stepped into a parental role.
