In the past few years, Hallmark Christmas movies have ventured into comedy, same-gender couples, movies featuring best pals, and more inclusive content. The almost-kiss is nearly extinct, and there are far fewer movies that feature the typical trope of a woman giving up her big city job for a bakery or flower shop and the love of the local hunk.

But, could they venture into something more smoldering? During the Christmas holiday, Lifetime made an NSFW Christmas movie starring Jana Kramer called A Cowboy Christmas Romance. Much has been said about this movie, as it had far more than the traditional chaste kiss. Moreover, the network plans on doing more movies like this, as women want to see this sort of intimacy in a Lifetime movie.

Therefore, in a recent interview with the stars of Three Wise Men And A Baby, Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, and Paul Campbell were asked whether Hallmark will go the sensual route in a future movie. What did these three Hallmark hunks have to say?

Recently, there has been a lot of press about Jana Kramer’s latest Christmas movie, and the groundbreaking intimate scene that was a first for holiday movies The movie, A Cowboy Christmas Romance, was penned by Grey’s alum Sarah Drew. Moreover, that scintillating scene was in the original script.

Now that Lifetime has gone in this direction, could Hallmark After Dark be next? In a recent interview with Vulture, Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes, and Paul Campbell were asked about this very thing. After mentioning the Jana Kramer movie, they were asked, “Will there ever be a point where Hallmark depicts intimacy beyond a kiss?”

After Tyler Hynes quickly chimed to the delight of Hynies everywhere, “I’m in.” Next, there was a thoughtful discussion answering this question. This was led by Paul Campbell. Paul, who not only acts in Hallmark movies, he also writes them. Therefore, he understands the brand and the “feeling” that Hallmark movies bring. “There’s an innocence and a sweetness.”

Campbell revealed that “I don’t think we necessarily need to see two people in bed to tell that story in the best way.” He then continued, “If you want to see that, you can go to Lifetime. To make our movies sing, we don’t have to see intimacy beyond a kiss.”

Are Other Networks Direct Competition?

Right now, many networks are making Christmas movies. However, do these Hallmark Hunks see other networks as direct competition? Andrew Walker started, “I don’t know who else can do what we do.” He contended that other networks may do some things better, or have bigger budgets. But, he concluded, “I don’t know how our style gets duplicated somewhere else in quite the same way.”

Lastly, the trio of Hallmark Hunks summed up why fans won’t be seeing Hallmark After Dark anytime soon. That is because they have their distinct brand.

Hallmark fans, do you think the network should make a movie with an intimate scene?
