Fans Say Kim Kardashian Looks Uncomfortable In Her Own SKIMS
The Kardashians star, Kim Kardashian, has been trying out new styles and revisiting old marketing strategies to promote her brands. Specifically, her SKIMS brand has been mixing modern styles with retro ad campaigns. While some of her marketing has gotten rave reviews, her most recent release didn’t win over some fans. Additionally, many fans have communicated that it is more “cringe” than “win.”
Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Evolution
Originally, the SKIMS brand’s focus was on shapewear and undergarments. However, in recent years it has expanded to include dresses, loungewear, pajamas, and other signature pieces. Although Kim Kardashian was spotlighted in the last season of The Kardashians for maintaining but struggling with her hectic schedule, she still finds time to squeeze in vintage photo shoots. Not only did she star in a new ad, but in November she also released a holiday-themed vintage ski campaign.

Kim Kardashian’s New Ad
On December 15, The Kardashians star, Kim Kardashian, added a SKIMS marketing video to her Instagram page. The business mogul attempted something new, but vintage. In the video, Kim stretches out laying on her side in a full-length gold dress. Although the ad is modern, it has a retro feel to the picture quality. Additionally, the lighting gave a nod to 80s-style videography. Unfortunately, the intent fell flat for some of the fans.
Ring In The New Year
On Kim Kardashian’s Instagram the video captions: “The @skims new year’s eve shop dropping 12.19.” Additionally, Kim combines a steamy tone with the 80s ambiance and says, “The SKIMS New Year’s Eve shop. For New Year’s Eve, nothing feels better than SKIMS. Styles in seductive silk and sexy lace for your most luxurious night.” Unquestionably, some fans were immediately in love. One says, “Wow, I love you,” and “love.” Additionally, one person compared the commercial theme to “Cher vibes.”

When Kim Kardashian’s ad came out on Instagram some fans thought it was perfectly on point. However, many are not impressed. Specifically, some fans pointed out how “uncomfortable” she seems in the gold SKIMS dress.
