What happens when an old curse puts dates in danger? Get ready to find out what Betty does in Hallmark’s Betty’s Bad Luck In Love.
According to the synopsis, Betty has always believed her love life was “cursed.” When she was in school and about to kiss a boy for the very first time, a “jealous classmate cursed her with the fate of never finding true love.”
To most people, this explanation for her disastrous relationships seemed very lame. No one gets cursed. But, Betty had a long line of boyfriends who suffered unexpected “disaster.”
Eventually, this led Betty to become an actuary. She can accurately predict odds and outcomes. Moreover, she figured out that the odds of one of her boyfriends facing disaster made dating anyone a risk. Therefore, she stopped dating altogether.

Now, Betty is busy planning her best friend Mya’s wedding. She meets Alex, “a danger-seeking news photographer.” He wants to date her, but she is not sure. Mya thinks she should give dating and love another chance.
At first, Betty decides to hang out with Alex to keep him safe. But, as they see each other more often, Betty starts to wonder if this curse is real. But, this is quickly forgotten when Alex trips and ends up falling down a staircase. Now, Betty blames herself.
Because she doesn’t want to walk away from Alex, Betty goes on a search for that childhood classmate who cursed her. Can she break the curse, or forever live alone? Or w ere these disasters just random acts of recklessness?

When can romcom fans see the premiere of Betty’s Bad Luck In Love? That date is Saturday, January 20, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel. In addition, this new romcom will be available on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere.
