‘The Voice’ Fans Slam & Boycott Taylor Swift
Swifties are eating up the latest news of Taylor Swift being named TIME 2023 Person Of The Year. And there’s no denying they are loving Taylor being in love with Travis Kelce. Additionally, who doesn’t adore a crossover, like Taylor Swift nights in Dancing With The Stars, Celebrity Jeopardy, and The Voice? Notably, The Voice fans currently don’t. Recently, The Voice fans have called for a boycott of Taylor’s collaboration with the show.
The Voice Semi-Finals
On December 11-12, The Voice Season 24 Semi-Finals were dedicated to Taylor Swift. During the two nights each of the remaining contestants will sing a solo then in trios, they also sing some of Taylor’s covers. Undeniably, The Voice coach, Niall Horan, is a huge fan of Taylor. Markedly, he has even performed with her on the Reputation Tour. In an interview with ET, Niall says, “If it’s anyone that dominates music for this year and probably the previous 20, it’s Taylor. She deserves a show like this.”
- Although Taylor did not appear in Monday night’s episode, a fan said, “I bet Niall is fan girling rn.”
- Also acknowledging his fandom, another commenter says, “I’m sure Niall will be so excited he loves Taylor.”
- Someone else adds, “Niall is going to love these performances so much. So happy for him.”
- Inquiring, someone says, “ARE NIALL GWEN REBA AND JOHN ALSO GONNA DO A TAYLOR PERFORMANCE TOGETHER???!?!!!!!?? that would slay.”
Taylor Swift Attends A Charity
However, the night before the Taylor Swift-themed Voice episode, Taylor, along with Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne attended a philanthropic event in Brooklyn hosted by Ramy Youssef’s comedy club. Notably, The Voice fans saw the event on Instagram promoting fundraising for American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA). Reportedly, ANERA is controversially showing strong political bias. According to The Jerusalem Post, “ANERA’s reports and newsletters present a highly biased view of the conflict, ignoring any Palestinian responsibility for hardship and contributing to the demonization of Israel consistent with the 2001 Durban strategy.”
The Voice Fans Slam Taylor Swift
After Taylor Swift attended the fundraiser, fans began to question her stance on ANERA. But when the fans didn’t hear anything from her, they boycotted her arrival on The Voice. Seemingly, she agrees with her song lyrics, “There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.”
- One fan slammed Taylor saying, “Not a fan of that narcissist.”
- Someone else commented, “Most overrated artist.”
- Another person called her out saying, “She is bad luck. Look at what happened to the chiefs. Will pass on watching this week.”
- “Yuck. Just seems weird that The Voice is merging with someone who doesn’t share the authenticity of The Voice.”
