‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ Preview: Tammy Slaton’s Final Time With Late Hubby
In the latest 1000-Lb. Sisters Season 5 preview, Tammy Slaton’s final time with her late husband is the focus. The new season will premiere on Tuesday, December 12th. Finally, Tammy gets to come home but she is also a newlywed and is leaving her husband behind. What is this last interaction like? Read on for more details.
1000-Lb. Sisters Preview: Tammy Slaton’s Final Time With Late Hubby
Tammy Slaton ended Season 4 not only having had her weight loss surgery but also in love. She fell for another person at the treatment facility, Caleb Willingham. After a short period of time, he proposed to her in the parking lot and she excitedly said “yes.” Her family came together to help plan the best possible wedding for the couple at the facility which served as the Season 4 1000-Lb. Sisters finale. Sadly, around seven months after they tied the knot, Caleb passed away at 40.
In the latest preview, thanks to Us Weekly, Tammy is finally going home to be with her family after 14 months in the facility. Unfortunately, Caleb has to stay behind because he has not reached his goals just yet. As Tammy is packing up her things to go, Caleb stops her so he can share a poem he wrote for her. It is absolutely beautiful and even more heartwrenching now that he has since passed:
“Sunflower, sunflower, God planted you as a seed in a field full of many, but you he meant for me. In fields full of green, representing the life that you have breathed inside your king.”
This fills Caleb and Tammy Slaton with so much emotion and she tells her husband that she loves what he wrote. He notes that she is his “sunflower.” Keep in mind that they had sunflowers as their flower of choice at their wedding.
Caleb makes a promise to his wife he will get out of rehab and be by her side soon enough. He is unsure of how he will make this happen but he does seem determined. There are clips of him sharing that he has weight setbacks so that is a big issue for the two of them.
Never Coming Home
Sadly, Caleb Willingham never made it home to Tammy Slaton as he passed away in the summer of 2023. As of now, it appears to be from natural causes and the couple was allegedly not on the best of terms. However, it will be a very long and sad season seeing what could have been. Fortunately, all of the trauma did not derail Tammy’s weight loss goals and she has just kept going.
