Whoopi Goldberg Was Full Of Surprises

On The View Monday, December 4, Whoopi Goldberg was making waves during the show. Surprisingly, she pulled out a British accent to deliver the Hot Topics. And then later in the show, she charged the stage to steal from the guest star before running backstage. But before the end of the show, she also had the very talented guest, Julia Roberts, tripping over her words.

Beloved Guest Star Julia Roberts

Without a doubt, Julia Roberts was on The View to promote her upcoming movie release with Netflix called Leave the World Behind. However, with such a brilliant star in-house, the panel couldn’t pass up the opportunity to discuss many of her past movies, including several treasured rom-coms. Additionally, her naturally curly hair got the spotlight for a bit. She even offered marital advice based on her 21 years of married experience with her husband, Danny Moder. But Whoopi Goldberg stole the show with her antics.

Julia Offers Advice

When the topic of having a happy marriage arose, Julia Roberts was asked by the panel to tell the secrets of her marital bliss. Following, Julia says, many of those secrets are private, but she could offer a few tips. Notably, she mentions her sister, who has been married 25 years, gave her great advice she can pass along. Specifically, her sister credits having two bathroom sinks and two phone lines to keep the balance. Whoopi Goldberg takes notes as the conversation continues.

However, Julia Roberts states a more obvious need in a working marriage. She nonchalantly says, “Marrying the right person is important.” But then elaborating further, she says, “I think lots of kissing hello and goodbye is really a critical detail to daily life.” Urging the audience she says, “Everybody try it for a week, every time you say good morning, hug and a kiss, every time you leave the house.” Sunny Hostin can relate, based on the habits of her husband of 25 years. But Sunny was quick to say, “What’s up with all the kissing.” Challenging the idea, Julia says, “Well maybe that’s what the secret sauce is.” Admittedly, Whoopi Goldberg pipes up, “Maybe that’s been my problem.”

Whoopi Goldberg’s Past Marriages

Notably, Whoopi Goldberg had three marriages and three divorces. Adding to the conversation, Whoopi says, “I just have a ‘mwah!'” Making a quick side pucker pretending to only be hurriedly addressing her past partner. Additionally, Whoopi continues, “I don’t have a ‘mmph!'” This time she changed the sound effects to indicate a much deeper smootch. And then she adds with a side eye, “I just do ‘mwah!’, see you, bye! Come back in a week!” Further describing the previous relationships she confesses, “Hit and run, that’s what I like to talk about!” Which made the audience crack up in laughter. Then Julia blushes and says, “Wait, and I’m the bad one?” Julia fans her face, a bit flustered by the ordeal, and says, “I gotta go, sorry, sorry.” Whoopi regains composer and thanks Julia for the pleasure of having her on the show.

  1. being someone married for 40yrs I say those things are important. but even more than that you have to be friends and you have to know how to talk to each other. you have to respect one another. you have to fully trust each other.
